Finally, Del Mar starts back up and the Cornfather can play his patented West Coast Racing. He’s found a favorite to play against in the opener and will look to take advantage
Race 1: 6 Furlongs. F.Clm 12500
#3 Sweetwater Gal (5/2) – The morning line and likely heavy favorite in this race is one the Cornfather will toss out. She’s 0-3 at Del Mar and more importantly her 3 wins have all been at 5 furlongs. She is a 5-furlong closer and the extra furlong will take the starch out of her late kick. The Cornfather won’t even have her in the exacta.
Pony of the Day #5 Papercoversrock (4/1) – Pressing a hot pace going a mile last time, she ran 2nd behind a blowout winner. That race should set her up perfectly for today’s 6 furlong distance and she should be a square number on the tote board. 1st off the claim for trainer Kristin Mulhall, this mare may also step forward with the blinkers added. If you mix all those ingredients up in a pot, you get the Cornfather’s Pony of the day.
