Monday’s NCAA Basketball Plays

There are two nice matchups on ESPN tonight, kicking off the Big Ten ACC Challenge.  We’re about to get into the swing of college basketball and the Cornfather is here for it.  Give him all the sports, all the action, there is no such thing as too much.

Lunch Money Plays

Syracuse -3 vs Maryland – Potential lottery pick Tyrus Battle is a game time decision tonight for Cuse after suffering a back injury against Toledo.  He has practiced this week, so the Corfather will bet he plays.  The Orange struggled a little bit in that match up against Toledo, but Toledo is a potential tournament team and MAC favorite.  Maryland typically stinks against the zone and the Cornfather will ride the home team with the students getting back to campus.  This will be the first major home game of season and the dome will be rocking.  The Orange win by 7.

Wisconsin +7.5 @ Virginia – Wisconsin has struggled to win close games to start the season, but all the Cornfather needs them to do tonight is cover.  Both teams play the same stylistically and will be more than happy with a slow tempo.  This is going to be a defensive battle with very few possessions and the Cornfather doesn’t see a major advantage to either side.  Both teams match up well individually and this one is sure to be a fight until the end.  The Cornfather is taking the points.
