The Cornfather is back after his brief hiatus and this site is about to be bigger and better than ever. The back end of the site is finally where it needs to be and the Cornfather is ready to hand deliver winners. We are in the heart of bowl season and finally the good teams are taking the field. The Cornfather knows us peasants need money after the holidays, so he’s not pulling any punches. The Cornfather’s College Football Bowl Picks have never been seen by the public before. I am very grateful and can’t wait to cash my tickets. The Let’s Eat.
Military Bowl: Virginia +1.5 vs Navy O/U 51.5
Both teams finished the season with low scoring affairs in bad weather. However, toweHhat’s not the way both teams like to play. The Cornfather thinks the over is a very sneaky good bet in this one. When the Midshipmen get rolling, they up points in bunches and Virginia should have no problem scoring on a weaker defense then they’ve seen in their recent match ups. The total is just high enough to bait to the public into taking the under as well. Vegas can’t fool the Cornfather.
Car Payment Play: Over 51.5
Camping World Bowl: Virginia Tech +5.5 @ Oklahoma State O/U 61.5
The Hokies and Cowboys are both good teams, but neither team could get it done in their big games this year. Virginia Tech has a strong defense and a bad offense while Oklahoma State has the opposite. Who will the Cornfather choose? What does he truly value? In this case the Cornfather thinks the Cowboys will still put up points in bunches and he doesn’t think Virginia Tech can keep up. Offense wins championships, everybody knows that. Oklahoma State gets it done by two scores.
Car Payment Play: Oklahoma State -5.5
Valero Alamo Bowl: Stanford +3 vs TCU O/U 48.5
This was a very tough pick for the Cornfather because of the seldom seen home field advantage in a bowl game. With the game being in San Antonio, the Horned Frogs have a significant advantage. However, the Cornfather will stick to his guns and take the better team in Stanford. The Cardinal have impressed the Cornfather in the way they’ve played to finish the season and he has faith that they will put points up in this one. TCU has a solid defense, but it’s not built to stop a pro-style offense like Stanford has. The Cornfather will laugh watching them try to stop I-Formation and all of the run blocking schemes the Cardinal have. Kenny Hill is also a very bad quarterback.
Car Payment Play: Stanford +3, Lunch Money Play: Over 48.5
Washington State +2 vs Michigan State O/U 47.5
The last game on the card is also the Cornfather’s best bet of the day. Michigan State stinks. Their only two wins against good teams, Michigan (who’s not that good) and Penn State, were in crazy weather and were flukes. Both teams have solid defenses, but Washington State has a much better offense. Mike Leech will have the boys ready to run through a shed wall. Never a doubt.
Mortgage Play: Washington State +2
